Between 20 and 26 September 2026, the traditional 34th Days of Frane Petrić took place on Cres, organised by the Croatian Philosophical Society. As part of an international scientific symposium attended by around fifty experts from various European countries, a session entitled ‘Technology – Technique – Technoworld’ was held, at which lecturers from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Ljubljana also contributed notable academic papers.

In a session dedicated to Christian spirituality and the modern world, Dr Ivan Platovnjak presented a paper entitled »Suosjećajna prisutnost u tehnosvijetu: kršćanska duhovnost i pratnja osobama u žalovanju« (Compassionate Presence in the Techno-World: Christian Spirituality and Accompanying the Bereaved). Dr Tadej Strehovec’s paper offered an interesting insight into the ethical debate on autonomous systems (‘The Face Behind the Score: Care Ethics, Autonomous Weapons Systems, and the Dehumanisation of the Technoworld’). Dr Mateja Pevec Rozman chaired one of the symposium’s sessions and presented a paper entitled ‘Phronesis in the Age of Filters: Technology in the Service of Humanity and the Conditions for True Peace’.

The participation of lecturers from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Ljubljana underscores the faculty’s significant role on the international stage in the multidisciplinary examination of the impact of technology, artificial intelligence, and digitalisation on humanity and contemporary society.
