ECTS and Grading System
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard for comparing the study performance of higher education students across the European Union. ECTS credits present the value allocated to a certain course and describe the quantity of work each course required from a student (Univerza v Ljubljani).
Grade 10 | Exceptional knowledge without or with negligible faults | ECTS = A | 91%-100% |
Grade 9 | Very good knowledge with some minor faults | ECTS = B | 81%-90% |
Grade 8 | Good knowledge with certain faults | ECTS = C | 71%-80% |
Grade 7 | Solid knowledge but with several faults | ECTS = D | 61%-70% |
Grade 6 | Knowledge only meets minimal criteria | ECTS = E | 51%-60% |
Grade 5 | Knowledge does not meet minimal criteria | ECTS = F | 0%-50% |
A student passes the exam if he/she is graded from 6 to 10.
Study requirements may also be evaluated with grades: passed with distinction, passed or failed.
