Information System VIS and How to Log In
Information system VIS contains a digital personal student profile, including all important study information, such as timetables, examination dates, course pages and grades.
You can access VIS with your UL-ID digital identity. Use your UL-ID and the password you chose when activating your UL-ID.
You will get instructions by email on how to activate your UL-ID digital identity and complete the enrolment procedure. Your UL-ID digital identity contains your username and your email address (you can access your UL FPA email by signing in Gmail using your full email address). We recommend that you regularly check your incoming email because all important notifications from the Faculty, professors and the Student Affairs Office will be sent to this email address.
Important notice on two-step verification regarding VIS:

Digital student card and Proof of student status
From 2026/2027, students enroled in our study programmes (international students, Erasmus+ and Ceepus students) will be issued a Digital student card. The physical student ID will no longer be used.
You can prove your student status in two ways:
- via the Digital Student ID app: Digital Student ID | GOV.SI
- via Proof of student status on the ID portal
The Digital Student ID Card replaces the existing physical student ID card and will contain:
- a photograph of the student,
- the full name of the student,
- the name of the higher education institution to which the student status is linked,
- the date of issue and expiry of the student ID card,
- the period of validity of the student status,
- the European Student Identifier (ESI),
- the European Student Card Number (ESCN),
- QR codes.

EMŠO Number
EMŠO is a Slovenian national identification number for all Slovenian citizens and foreigners who stay in Slovenia for certain period of time. All students studying in Slovenia receive this number upon enrolment. You will receive your EMŠO number by email. You will need this number during your stay in Slovenia (e.g. for subsidised student meals).

Student surveys
With the start of the 2025/2026 academic year, the new Regulations on the Student Survey at the University of Ljubljana (the Regulations) came into force, stipulating that students on international mobility programmes at the University of Ljubljana are also entitled to complete the survey.
This provision was technically implemented in the academic information systems from the 2026/2027 academic year. This enables students on international exchange programmes to provide feedback on the modules and lecturers involved in their study commitments.
In accordance with the Regulations, completion of the survey is anonymous and voluntary. Completing the survey therefore does not restrict registration for examinations. Students may register for an examination even if they do not complete the survey; however, they must actively decline to complete the survey.
