Strengthening cooperation between UL TEOF and the Daoists

On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, the Dean of the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Theology (UL TEOF), Asst. Prof. Dr. Tadej Stegu, and the Rector of the Slovenian Daoist Temple of Supreme Harmony (SDT) signed a letter of intent to strengthen their cooperation. UL TEOF and SDT aim to enhance and expand their existing successful collaboration in scientific research and education.

Both institutions, each in their own way, contribute to deepening the proper understanding of Daoism in Slovenia: UL TEOF educates students about the basic characteristics of Daoism as a religion within its regular curriculum, while the SDT religious community engages in Daoist educational, religious, and cultural activities – including Daoist rituals, meditation, longevity techniques, Daoist and traditional Chinese music, lectures, and the organisation of visits by foreign representatives in practical or academic fields – to promote the Chinese Daoist spiritual tradition.

The signatories agree that their activities are complementary and that, through joint initiatives and appearances in academic and civil society, they will contribute to a more comprehensive and high-quality presentation and understanding of institutional Daoism in Slovenia and Europe, as well as to a more comprehensive and high-quality presentation and understanding of Christian theological thought in China.
