GENERAL INFORMATION
CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Programme for Students and Teachers) is a regional programme launched in March 1995, which aims to establish and promote student and teacher mobility between the participating countries and to exploit the links of friendship and the opportunities for the creation of joint study programmes.
Higher education institutions from the following countries participate in CEEPUS: Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia.
CEEPUS operates on the basis of networks set up by individual universities, faculties or their departments in specific fields. So-called "networks" must consist of at least three partner universities/faculties/departments, at least two of which are from different countries. One of these institutions is the network coordinator. The network as a whole applies for a certain number of exchange months, which can only be dedicated to hosting foreign students and professors in accordance with the approved exchange programme proposal.
Students and professors can only apply for a grant within the network in which their institution is involved. The CEEPUS scholarship is awarded by the recipient country and includes a stipend, accommodation and healthcare, and provides a tuition fee waiver. Travel expenses are not covered! The network ensures that the study period spent at the partner institution is recognised at the home institution.
