ECTS and Grading System

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard for comparing the study performance of higher education students across the European Union. ECTS credits present the value allocated to a certain course and describe the quantity of work each course required from a student (Univerza v Ljubljani).

Grade 10 Exceptional knowledge without or with negligible faults ECTS = A 91%-100%
Grade 9 Very good knowledge with some minor faults ECTS = B 81%-90%
Grade 8 Good knowledge with certain faults ECTS = C 71%-80%
Grade 7 Solid knowledge but with several faults ECTS = D 61%-70%
Grade 6 Knowledge only meets minimal criteria ECTS = E 51%-60%
Grade 5 Knowledge does not meet minimal criteria ECTS = F 0%-50%

A student passes the exam if he/she is graded from 6 to 10.

Study requirements may also be evaluated with grades: passed with distinction, passed or failed.
